Dr. Phil Koopman to present at two conferences in October
ECR Chief Scientist Phil Koopman will be presenting at two conferences during the month of October, one focusing on the challenges posed by testing and validating autonomous vehicle safety, and the other focused on what can be done to improve embedded software quality.
First, Dr. Koopman will present at the HILT 2016 Workshop on October 6-7 in Pittsburgh to discuss the difficulties and possible solutions to Autonomous Vehicle Testing and Validation. The HILT (High-Integrity Language Technology) workshop is Part of the Embedded Systems Week in Pittsburgh, running from October 2 to October 7.
Second, Dr. Koopman will be one of the keynote speakers at the 27th International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering (ISSRE) conference in Ottawa, ON. His topic will be "Embedded System Software Quality: Why is it so often terrible? What can we do about it?"* He will be delivering his keynote on Tuesday, October 25 at 8:15 in Ballroom A.
*Hint: (1) embedded products often aren’t created by computer specialists, and (2) teaching application domain specialists just how to code is more of a problem than a solution. Also, perhaps you haven't availed yourself of our training services?
